2MCR presenter Helen Kay has been inducted into the Country Music Broadcaster's Hall of Fame at the recent Country Music Festival at Tamworth. The Hall of Fame pays tribute to broadcasters, past and present, who have played a significant role in the development of Australian country music.
At present Helen is presenting her own show on 2MCR, which features local artists and country music tunes. She also presents a national program on the Community Radio Satellite across Australia called Country Community. It is one of the few country music programs with a national reach that looks at the Country music industry across Australia.
Helen was so surprised when receiving the award that she was speechless - for the first time in her life :-)
Helen is also a writer, performer and recording artist, and more recently Helen has become involved with the Galston Country Music Festival and the Golden Saddle Awards. She has also been involved in a number of community broadcasters across Sydney and has been with 2MCR for over 6 years.
As with all presenters on the station, Helen volunteers her time to the Community.
